Cough with mucus
Description of Cough with mucus
Cough with mucus refers to a cough that is productive. It is also called as wet cough. Mucus is produced by the mucus membranes which line your mouth, nose, throat, sinuses, and lungs, and it works with the tiny hairs which are lining your airways. Mucus traps particles such as dust and provides defense against infection. However, too thick or dense mucus can trigger your body’s cough reflex, so as to expel the build-up of mucus, which leads to wet or nagging coughs.
