AB-Flo SR Tablet is used to treat and prevent symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (a lung disorder in which flow of air to the lung is blocked). It helps in relaxing the muscles of the air passages, thus widening it and making it easier to breathe.

In Treatment of Asthma

AB-Flo SR Tablet can help prevent the onset of an asthma attack if it is taken before exercise or exposure to some “triggers”. These may include house dust, pollen, pets and cigarette smoke. This medicine will allow you to exercise more freely without worrying about getting symptoms such as wheezing, coughing and shortness of breath. It allows you to live your life more freely without worrying so much about things that set off your symptoms.

In Treatment of Bronchitis

Bronchitis leads to chest congestion and wheezing. AB-Flo SR Tablet relieves symptoms of bronchitis by clearing congestion and relaxing airways.

In Treatment of Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

AB-Flo SR Tablet helps the airways in your lungs stay open. It relaxes the muscles of these airways. This makes it easier for air to get in and out. It will relieve symptoms such as tightness in your chest, shortness of breath, wheezing and coughing and help you carry out your daily activities more easily. This medicine is safe and effective. It usually starts to work within a few minutes and the effects can last up to several hours. Do not stop using it unless you are advised to by your doctor.

If you are taking birth control pills, dose of AB-Flo SR Tablet need to be reduced as birth control pills may interfere with clearance of AB-Flo SR Tablet, increasing its levels and chances of side effects.

Q. How should AB-Flo SR Tablet be taken?

AB-Flo SR Tablet should be taken strictly as advised by the doctor. To avoid an upset stomach it should be taken with food.

Q. Is it okay to take furosemide along with AB-Flo SR Tablet?

One should take proper caution if you are taking furosemide along with AB-Flo SR Tablet. This is because the combined use of these medicines may decrease the levels of potassium. Hence, regular monitoring of potassium levels is required.

AB-Flo SR Tablet should be avoided in patients who are allergic to ambroxol, AB-Flo SR Tablet, or theophylline.
