Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It works by relaxing the blood vessels and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. It also removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body.

Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet is a combination of an antihypertensive and a diuretic medicine.

You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.

Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

CAUTION

Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet is not recommended in these patients.

Liver

CAUTION

Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

What if you forget to take Altoran-CH Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

You have been prescribed Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet for the treatment of high blood pressure.
It can be taken with or without food.
Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, very dry mouth or muscle weakness.
It may cause dizziness. Get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
Use of Altoran CH 40mg/6.25mg Tablet during pregnancy or breastfeeding is unsafe.
It may also decrease the risk of stroke and heart attacks.
