Amlopres 5 Tablet is used in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. It is used to treat cancer of the prostate gland that has not responded to treatment with other anticancer medicines. It may be used alone or in combination with steroid medicines.
Amlopres 5 Tablet belongs to general group of medicines called antineoplastics. It works by interfering with growth of cancer cells, which are eventually destroyed. It is given as injection and is given only in the presence of doctor.
This medicine may cause decrease in the production of blood cells thereby making you more prone to infection. Hence, regular blood tests are required to monitor the levels of blood cells. The tests may be done to check how well your liver and kidneys are working.
Cancer medicines can interact with other medicines and herbal products, so keep your doctor informed about the medicines you are taking.
