Respiratory tract infections are those infections that can affect the sinuses, throat, airways or lungs. Astapod CV Dry Syrup contains two different medicines, Cefpodoxime Proxetil and Clavulanic Acid, that work together to kill the bacteria that cause respiratory tract infections. Cefpodoxime Proxetil works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Clavulanic Acid reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefpodoxime Proxetil against bacteria.

It usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefpodoxime Proxetil against bacteria.

Astapod CV Dry Syrup is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Astapod CV Dry Syrup is recommended.
However, consult with your child’s doctor before giving Astapod CV Dry Syrup to your child in case of a severe form of liver disease.

What if I forget to give Astapod CV Dry Syrup to my child?

Do not panic. Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule and do not give the double dose to catch up.

Monitor temp. If child has fever place a cool, damp washcloth on your child's forehead. Give your child a lukewarm tub bath or a sponge bath. Give a sponge bath as follows: - ? Use lukewarm water [90?F (32.2?C) to 95?F (35?C)]. Do not use cold water, ice, or rubbing alcohol, which will lower the child's body temperature too quickly. ? Sponge for 20 to 30 minutes. ? Stop if the child starts to shiver. If your child doesn't like the sponge bath or doesn't feel better after the bath, there is no need to give another one.
