Typhoid fever spreads through the intake of contaminated food and water. Children who have typhoid and do not require hospital admission can be well managed with C Hawk O Dry Syrup at home because of its excellent activity against organisms that cause typhoid fever.

In Treatment of Bacterial infections

C Hawk O Dry Syrup is a combination of two different antibiotics that work together, in different ways, to treat various bacterial infections. Cefixime works by stopping the growth of bacteria and kills them. Ofloxacin prevents multiplication and repair of infection causing bacteria and prevents further spread of the infection.

This combination medicine can be used to treat many different bacterial infections such as ear, sinus, throat, lung, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues. It usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

How C Hawk O Dry Syrup works

C Hawk O Dry Syrup contains two antibiotics. Cefixime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) while ofloxacin directly interacts with the genetic material of bacteria. As a consequence, the infection-causing bacteria stop growing further and the spread of the infection is successfully arrested.

C Hawk O Dry Syrup is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of C Hawk O Dry Syrup is recommended.
However, consult with your child’s doctor before giving C Hawk O Dry Syrup to your child in case of a severe form of liver disease.

What if I forget to give C Hawk O Dry Syrup to my child?

Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not give the double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Quick tips

Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Give this medicine with food to avoid an upset stomach.
Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect.
Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking C Hawk O Dry Syrup as these can affect the absorption of the medicine.
Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions.
Only give C Hawk O Dry Syrup to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
Stop this medicine and immediately report to your child’s doctor in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
