Introduction of Femoston Tablet

Femoston Mini Tablet is a combination medicine used for hormone replacement therapy. It is a mixture of female sex hormones that helps in relieving symptoms like hot flushes, vaginal dryness and irritation in postmenopausal women.

Femoston Mini Tablet is a combination of two hormonal medicines: Femoston Mini Tablet1 and Femoston Mini Tablet2 which are a part of hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

If you miss a dose of Femoston Mini Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • Femoston Mini Tablet is used as a part of hormone replacement therapy to relieve symptoms of menopause.
  • Take it at the same time everyday to help you remember to take it.
  • Low-intensity exercise such as yoga may help with your symptoms. However, avoid infrequent, high-impact exercise.
  • You may experience menstrual irregularities such as spotting or bleeding between menstrual periods or missed periods. Consult your doctor if this persists.
  • Reduce your intake of caffeinated drinks and alcohol as these may make your symptoms worse.
  • Ensure that you undergo regular breast screening (for presence of lumps or any abnormal changes) and cervical smear test while taking this medicine.
  • Stop taking this medicine and inform your doctor immediately if you notice unexplained swelling and pain in your limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain, severe headache, or changes in vision. These could be symptoms of a blood clot in a vein.

Femoston Mini Tablet contains a combination of two female sex hormones, a type of estrogen called Estradiol and a type of progesterone called Dydrogesterone. It is used as a part of hormone replacement therapy. It helps in treating estrogen deficiency symptoms like hot flushes (red and warm face), vaginal dryness in women. It is also used to prevent osteoporosis (thinning and weakening of bone) in postmenopausal women, who are at high risk of fractures and have limited treatment options.

Take Femoston Mini Tablet as per the advice of your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. However, you must try to take it at the same time of each day, to ensure the consistent levels of medicine in your body.

Q. What if I miss to take Femoston Mini Tablet?

If you miss a dose, you should take it as soon as possible. If the dose was missed by more than 12 hours, do not take the missed dose and simply continue the usual dosing schedule.

No, Femoston Mini Tablet is not a contraceptive. It does not prevent pregnancy.
