Introduction of Invozide Tablet

Invozide Tablet is a medicine used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It is a combination of two medicines that helps to control blood pressure when a single medication is not effective. It helps to reduce the chances of any future heart attack and stroke.

Invozide Tablet is a combination of an antihypertensive and a diuretic medicine.

In Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Invozide Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also eliminates excess water from the body and increases urine output. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.

Side effects of Invozide Tablet

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Pregnancy

Invozide Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Invozide Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Invozide Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
CAUTION
Invozide Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Invozide Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function test, and potassium levels is recommended while you are taking this medicine.
Liver
CAUTION
Invozide Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Invozide Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

What if you forget to take Invozide Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Invozide Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • You have been prescribed Invozide Tablet for the treatment of high blood pressure.
  • It also lowers your risk of stroke and heart attack.
  • Take it in the morning with breakfast, to avoid getting up at night to urinate.
  • Invozide Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
  • To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
  • Inform you doctor about any cough, or throat irritation that doesn't go away.
  • Invozide Tablet may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and Inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, muscle weakness or very dry mouth.
  • Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood pressure, kidney function and the levels of salts such as potassium in your blood while you are taking this medicine.
  • Do not take Invozide Tablet if you’re pregnant or planning pregnancy. It can cause birth defects or be fatal to your unborn baby.

Persistent high arterial blood pressure above 120/80 mm HG is termed as pre-hypertension or hypertension, but the point to be emphasized is that this rise in blood pressure is persistent. Transient increase in BP occurs in stress and anxiety and needs to be treated accordingly.
