Introduction of Mefson Spas Tablet

Mefson Spas Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of abdominal pain. It works effectively to reduce abdominal pain, bloating, discomfort and cramps by relaxing the muscles of the stomach and gut. It also blocks certain chemical messengers that cause pain, inflammation and fever.

Mefson Spas Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Mefson Spas Tablet1 and Mefson Spas Tablet2.

Mefson Spas Tablet effectively relieves sudden muscle spasms or contractions in the stomach and intestine (gut), thereby relaxing the muscles and improving movement of food. This helps to treat abdominal pain (or stomach pain) as well as cramps, bloating and discomfort. Eventually, it will help you to go about your daily activities more easily and have a better, more active, quality of life.

How to use Mefson Spas Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Mefson Spas Tablet is to be taken with food.

Mefson Spas Tablet

You have been prescribed Mefson Spas Tablet to get relief from abdominal pain.
Mefson Spas Tablet should be taken with, or straight after, a meal or snack. This helps to reduce the risk of stomach upset.
Stick to simple meals and avoid spicy rich food in order to avoid feeling sick (nausea).
Drink plenty of water while taking Mefson Spas Tablet in case you experience diarrhea as its side-effect.
Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake and sugarless candy may help.
If you develop any new symptoms, or if your symptoms get worse, make an appointment to see your doctor for further advice.

Q. Can I stop taking Mefson Spas Tablet when my pain is relieved?

Mefson Spas Tablet is usually used for short term and can be discontinued if there is no pain. However, it should be continued if your doctor told you to do so.

Q. Can the use of Mefson Spas Tablet cause damage to the liver?

Mefson Spas Tablet contains nimesulide. This medicine is known to cause harm to the liver especially in the doses above the recommended level. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may further increase your risk of liver damage. Use of this medicine should preferably be avoided in patients with underlying liver disease. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any early signs and symptoms of liver damage. The symptoms may include fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, and abnormal liver enzymes.

Q. Can I take a higher than the recommended dose of Mefson Spas Tablet?

No, taking a higher than the recommended dose of Mefson Spas Tablet can lead to increased chances of side effects. If you experience increased severity of your symptoms, that are not relieved by the recommended doses, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
