Moxbro Syrup is used in children for the treatment of a variety of respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, lung abscess, acute and chronic bronchitis, and sinusitis. Moxbro Syrup contains two different medicines, Amoxycillin and Bromhexine, that work together to kill the bacteria that cause respiratory tract infections.

Amoxycillin helps in stopping the growth of bacteria. Bromhexine helps to loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. This makes it easier for air to move in and out. Quick tips

Complete the entire course of antibiotics without stopping the medicine in between. Stopping the medicine abruptly may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Make sure your child drinks plenty of water if they develop diarrhea as a side effect.

Use lukewarm water [90?F (32.2?C) to 95?F (35?C)]. Do not use cold water, ice, or rubbing alcohol, which will lower the child's body temperature too quickly. ? Sponge for 20 to 30 minutes. ? Stop if the child starts to shiver. If your child doesn't like the sponge bath or doesn't feel better after the bath, there is no need to give another one. Can I give Moxbro Syrup to my child repeatedly for a long time?

Long-term use of Moxbro Syrup can cause fungal infection (oral thrush) in the mouth and severe stomach infections (superinfections). Therefore, do not alter the dose and duration on your own. Strictly adhere to the prescribed dose and consult the doctor if not sure, do not self judge a situation. Additionally, it is important to know that irregular treatment, repeated use, and misuse of Moxbro Syrup can make the bacteria resistant, affecting the future course of treatment.

Are there any possible serious side effects of Moxbro Syrup?

Although rare, Moxbro Syrup may cause some serious side effects such as persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. Therefore, if your child experiences any such unwanted effects, consult your child’s doctor at the earliest.

Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Moxbro Syrup ?

Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.

The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?

Change in the color and consistency of mucus in common cold is normal. This does not mean that your child needs antibiotics. Common cold symptoms often last for 7-10 days. In case the symptoms fail to clear up within this duration, reach out to your child’s doctor for guidance.

Is Moxbro Syrup safe for children suffering from infectious mononucleosis?

No, do not give this medicine to your child in this case. Reports suggest that a high percentage of children with infectious mononucleosis develop a skin rash (erythematous rash) while taking Moxbro Syrup.
