Introduction of Olmin A Tablet

Olmin 20-A Tablet contains two medicines, both of which help to control high blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure helps to reduce your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke in the future.

Benefits of Olmin A Tablet

In Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Both of the medicines in this combination work to lower blood pressure but in different ways. Together they help to relax blood vessels and make it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body. This lowers blood pressure. If your blood pressure is controlled you are less at risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or kidney problems. The medicine must be taken regularly as prescribed to be effective. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well.

Side effects of Olmin A Tablet

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to use Olmin A Tablet

Regular monitoring of blood pressure is advisable for dose adjustment.

Olmin 20-A Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Olmin 20-A Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Olmin 20-A Tablet is started at a lower dose in patients with liver disease and further increased slowly with careful monitoring.

What if you forget to take Olmin A Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Olmin 20-A Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

I have got hypertension and i am under medication Recently i have visit the doctor since my blood pressure was increase i was taking tazloc trio 40 and it was under control but recently my pressure was pumped up by 210/110 , my ecg was normal and other report is attached howver my chlostrol was higher 252 , doctor prescribe me new medicine omlin trio , i am having this medicine from last three day i my presure avg 160/104. Hello Sir, My BP was 130/100 and doctor suggested me to go for Olmin 40 and after taking it for 3 month, my BP had come down to 120/80, there after doctor reduce my dose to Olmin 20. I am using Olmin 20 from last 5 month and now the BP level has come down to 110/80 due to medicine and excercise, can i reduce the dosage to Olmin 10 from now or i should only take Olmin 20?

You may notice a decrease in your blood pressure effectively within 2 weeks of starting Olmin 20-A Tablet. However, it may take about 8 weeks to see the full benefits of this medicine. Q. Can Olmin 20-A Tablet cause weight gain?

No, Olmin 20-A Tablet does not cause weight gain. However, in very rare cases, chronic diarrhea with substantial weight loss may occur. If a patient develops diarrhea while taking Olmin 20-A Tablet and no other cause of diarrhea can be deduced, the doctor may suggest discontinuation of the medicine and recommend another medicine.

Q. What are the serious side effects of Olmin 20-A Tablet?

The serious side effects of Olmin 20-A Tablet include skin rash or itchiness, painful joints, fast heart beat, shortness of breath or tightness in the chest. Serious side effects may also include aching, tender or weak muscles (not caused by exercise), and swelling of the hands, feet or ankles. Olmin 20-A Tablet may also cause symptoms that may indicate high potassium levels in the blood, such as nausea, diarrhea, muscle weakness and change in heart rhythm. If you experience any of these symptoms, call your doctor immediately.

Q. Can Olmin 20-A Tablet affect my fertility or sex life?

Some blood pressure medicines (including water pills like hydrochlorothiazide) may affect a man’s ability to gain or maintain an erection (erectile dysfunction). However, it is thought that other blood pressure medicines can actually improve erectile dysfunction. If you are worried or notice some changes, talk to your doctor. There is no firm evidence which suggests any effect on the fertility of either men or women with the use of Olmin 20-A Tablet.

Q. For how long do I need to take Olmin 20-A Tablet? Is it safe to take long term?

You may have to take Olmin 20-A Tablet life long. Olmin 20-A Tablet controls high blood pressure but does not cure it. Do not stop taking it even if your blood pressure is well controlled. Olmin 20-A Tablet is generally considered safe to be taken for a long term. In some cases, long-term use may adversely affect the kidneys and the kidneys may not function as they should. Therefore, your doctor may prescribe regular blood tests to check urea, creatinine and potassium levels to keep a track of how well your kidneys are working.
