In Typhoid fever

Typhoid fever spreads through the intake of contaminated food and water. Children who have typhoid and do not require hospital admission can be well managed with Sefliv-OF Oral Suspension at home because of its excellent activity against organisms that cause typhoid fever.

In Treatment of Bacterial infections

Sefliv-OF Oral Suspension is a combination of two different antibiotics that work together, in different ways, to treat various bacterial infections. Cefixime works by stopping the growth of bacteria and kills them. Ofloxacin prevents multiplication and repair of infection causing bacteria and prevents further spread of the infection.

This combination medicine can be used to treat many different bacterial infections such as ear, sinus, throat, lung, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues. It usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

Sefliv-OF Oral Suspension does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. How Sefliv-OF Oral Suspension works

Sefliv-OF Oral Suspension contains two antibiotics. Cefixime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) while ofloxacin directly interacts with the genetic material of bacteria. As a consequence, the infection-causing bacteria stop growing further and the spread of the infection is successfully arrested.

Sefliv-OF Oral Suspension is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Sefliv-OF Oral Suspension is recommended.
However, consult with your child’s doctor before giving Sefliv-OF Oral Suspension to your child in case of a severe form of liver disease.

What if I forget to give Sefliv-OF Oral Suspension to my child?

Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not give the double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Quick tips

Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Give this medicine with food to avoid an upset stomach.
Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect.
Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Sefliv-OF Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine.
Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions.
Only give Sefliv-OF Oral Suspension to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.

Monitor temperature of Patient. If Patient has fever place a cool, damp washcloth on your child's forehead. Give your Patient a lukewarm tub bath or a sponge bath. Give a sponge bath as follows: - ? Use lukewarm water [90?F (32.2?C) to 95?F (35?C)]. Do not use cold water, ice, or rubbing alcohol, which will lower the child's body temperature too quickly. ? Sponge for 20 to 30 minutes. ? Stop if the child starts to shiver. If your child doesn't like the sponge bath or doesn't feel better after the bath, there is no need to give another one. You can use paracetamol also along with above measures to control fever till you consult Dr. will determine underlying disorders by clinical examination which range from mild conditions to the most serious of bacterial and viral illnesses and will prescribe medicines accordingly. Advice given without doing clinical examination can be imperfect or some time harmful to patient.
