Introduction of Synospas Tablet

Synospas Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of abdominal pain. It works effectively to reduce abdominal pain and cramps by relaxing the muscles of the stomach and gut. It also blocks certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever.

Synospas Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Synospas Tablet1 and Synospas Tablet2.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to use Synospas Tablet

Synospas Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Driving
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
It is not known whether Synospas Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney
CAUTION
Synospas Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Synospas Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Synospas Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Synospas Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, the use of Synospas Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

What if you forget to take Synospas Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Synospas Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Depression is a persistent state of sadness that is the result of interaction between one's inner biological and psychological state and gets triggered of with environmental stressors. Reactive depression is in response to a situation like loss, sickness, trauma etc. Endogenous depression occurs without any noticeable environmental stressors. Psychological symptoms include lack of interest, negative thinking, irritability, frustration, feeling demotivated etc. Somatic symptoms like fatigue/ weakness/ lack of sleep/ lack of appetite and other physical symptoms are common. Anxiety is common. In severe cases one may feel helpless and hopeless enough to wish for death or attempt suicide. Treatment includes physical and psychiatric work up following which medicines can be prescribed. In milder cases, psychotherapy or counselling is recommended.

Q. Is it safe to use Synospas Tablet?

Synospas Tablet is safe for most of the patients. If you experience any persistent problem while taking this medication, inform your doctor as soon as possible.

Synospas Tablet is usually used for short-term and can be discontinued if there is no pain. However, it should be continued if you are advised by your doctor to do so.

Q. Can the use of Synospas Tablet cause diarrhea?

Yes, the use of Synospas Tablet can cause diarrhea. In case of diarrhea, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Also, avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medication. Talk to your doctor if diarrhea persists and you notice signs of dehydration, like less urination with dark colored and strong-smelling urine. Do not take any other medicine without speaking to your doctor.

Yes, the use of Synospas Tablet can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips of water during the day and keep some by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry. Try to avoid foods that are acidic (like lemons), spicy and salty.

The use of Synospas Tablet is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to any of the components or excipients of this medicine. It should be used carefully in patients with alcohol dependency or with underlying kidney or liver damage.

Synospas Tablet is usually safe to use in the dose as recommended by the doctor. However, an overdose of Synospas Tablet can cause damage to the liver.
