Cinacalcet Uses
Cinacalcet is used to treat secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients with serious kidney disease who need dialysis, in hypercalcemia patients with parathyroid cancer (hypercalcemia) or primary hyperparathyroidism (despite surgical removal of gland) or when surgical removal of enlarged parathyroid gland (a gland in neck which maintains calcium level in body) is not possible.

Cinacalcet works by lowering a chemical (parathyroid hormone), which makes calcium level go back to normal.

Nausea, Vomiting, Weakness, Headache, Dizziness, Rash, Back pain, Muscle pain, Upper respiratory tract infection, Paresthesia (tingling or pricking sensation), Diarrhea, Decreased appetite, Constipation, Hypersensitivity reaction, Decreased calcium level in blood, Hypotension (low blood pressure), Breathlessness, Cough, Dyspepsia, Abdominal pain, Muscle spasm
