Description
 
A brain tumor is a growth of abnormal cells in the tissues of the brain. Brain tumors can be benign, with no cancer cells, or malignant, with cancer cells that grow quickly.
Some are primary brain tumors, which start in the brain. Others are metastatic, and they start somewhere else in the body and move to the brain.
 
Signs and Symptoms
 
Common symptoms are:
1. Headaches, often in the morning
2. Nausea and vomiting
3. Changes in your ability to talk, hear, or see
4. Problems with balance or walking
5. Problems with thinking or memory
6. Feeling weak or sleepy
7. Changes in your mood or behavior
8. Seizures
 
Investigations
 
Your doctor would recommend neurologic exam and tests including an MRI, CT scan, and biopsy. 
 
Treatment
 
Treatment options include:
1. Surgery
2. Radiation therapy
3. Chemotherapy
4. Targeted therapy
