High phosphate levels in blood, or hyperphosphatemia, can cause problems of bone and muscle. It can also increase the risk for heart attacks and strokes. Increased blood phosphate levels could be a sign of kidney damage. It could also be due to other conditions like hypoparathyroidism, diabetic ketoacidosis, etc.
