CT PET BRAIN PLAIN

PET CT Scans combines the Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan and Computerized Tomography (CT) scan test together to scan the brain for disorders like Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, depression, Parkinson’s disease and in cases of head trauma. The PET scans are useful for detecting metabolic changes that occur at the cellular level in an organ or tissue. The CT scan uses special X-ray machine to create pictures of the body part. The images from the two scans are combined through computer to create a three-dimensional image, which provides more accurate and precise information.
