Helicobacter Pylori Antibodies Panel IgA, IgG & IgM
Understanding Helicobacter Pylori Antibodies Panel IgA, IgG & IgM
What is Helicobacter Pylori Antibodies Panel IgA, IgG & IgM?
Helicobacter Pylori Antibodies Panel IgA, IgG and IgM is used to detect the presence of IgA, IgG and IgM antibodies against Helicobacter Pylori (H. pylori) infection, a common bacterial infection mostly affecting both adults and children. It causes gastric disorders like peptic ulcer, gastritis (inflammation in the stomach’s lining), etc. This test can be performed if you notice symptoms such as burning pain in abdomen, recurrent stomach pain, feeling of fullness, nausea, indigestion, unexplained weight loss, and bloating. This panel is also used to check if you have a recent or active infection. Maintaining good hygiene by washing hands thoroughly, eating hygienically prepared food, and drinking water from a safe, clean source are some ways to prevent an H. pylori infection, particularly in children.
