Auragyl-M Oral Suspension is given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract. This medicine is also given as an empirical antibiotic for infected diarrhea mixed with blood and serious infections like peritonitis.

Auragyl-M Oral Suspension is a combination of three antibiotics: Auragyl-M Oral Suspension1, Auragyl-M Oral Suspension2 and Auragyl-M Oral Suspension3 which treat diarrhoea.

Auragyl-M Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections such as tooth abscess, gum infection, pneumonia, diarrhea, dysentery, peritonitis, burning sensation while passing urine, and certain genital tract infections. This medicine inhibits the growth of infection-causing bacteria by stopping it from multiplying. You may start seeing an improvement in the infection within 3 to 5 days of regular dosing. But, you must still finish the full course of the medicine and never stop it abruptly by yourself as that may worsen your child’s condition or cause infection recurrence.

How to use Auragyl-M Oral Suspension

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Auragyl-M Oral Suspension may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Auragyl-M Oral Suspension works

Auragyl-M Oral Suspension is a combination of three active ingredients. While two of its ingredients, namely ofloxacin and metronidazole are antibiotics, simethicone is a gas-absorbing agent that improves gastric tolerability of the combination. The antibiotic ingredients interfere with the genetic material of bacteria by impairing its DNA. This kills the infection-causing bacteria, preventing its growth and stopping the infection. On the other hand, Simethicone binds with the gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem. By doing so, it aids in the removal of gases and provides relief in stomach pain and bloating.

Auragyl-M Oral Suspension may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.

What if you forget to take Auragyl-M Oral Suspension?

Do not panic. You can give the medicine as soon as you remember unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child. However, you should skip the dose if the next scheduled dose is near. In case of any confusion, do consult your doctor and do not double the dose to catch up.

Diarrhea is a common side effect of this medicine. If it occurs, make sure your child drinks plenty of water.
Your child may have an altered taste or furry tongue (coating of Auragyl-M Oral Suspension on tongue) after taking Auragyl-M Oral Suspension. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help.
Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Auragyl-M Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine.
Never use this medicine for the common cold and flu as they are caused by viruses and Auragyl-M Oral Suspension treats only bacterial infections.
Discontinue Auragyl-M Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing.
Only give Auragyl-M Oral Suspension to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
