Product introduction

Mesacol 1g Suppository is an anti-inflammatory medicine used to treat a type of bowel disease known as ulcerative colitis. It is used when the lining tissue of the inner rectum becomes inflamed (proctitis). It helps to reduce symptoms such as diarrhea, bleeding and stomach pain by reducing inflammation in the bowel.

Mesacol 1g Suppository is used for the treatment of diseases caused by redness and swelling of lining of parts of intestines

Ulcerative colitis is a disease of the large intestine (colon) and rectum in which the lining of the bowel becomes red and swollen. This can lead to bleeding, frequent diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Mesacol 1g Suppository can relieve these symptoms and also help you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. It is taken by the back passage (rectal route) and should not be taken orally. You need to use this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids to make sure you stay hydrated.

How to use Mesacol Suppository

How Mesacol Suppository works

Mesacol 1g Suppository is an aminosalicylate. It works directly on the site of inflammation (swelling) in the lower parts of large intestine (colon and rectum) to provide rapid relief from attacks of ulcerative colitis. It suppresses the production of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause intestinal inflammation, thereby reducing ulceration, bleeding and painful symptoms.
