TB Platinum Interferon Gamma Release Assay (IGRA)

The Tuberculosis (TB) screening test, also known as QuantiFERON®-TB Gold (QFT-G) or TB Platinum QuantiFERON® is used for screening tuberculosis. This test can be done when you have a high risk of exposure to TB. TB is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB primarily targets the lungs but may affect any area of the body such as the urinary tract, central nervous system, bones, joints, and/or other organs. The screening test measures the body's immune response to antigens derived from these bacteria.
