Ranolazine may cause changes in electrical activity of heart which is known as QT prolongation. Your doctor may get regular tests done to check the electrical activity of your heart. Ranolazine may also cause kidney failure in patients who already have kidney problems. Therefore, your doctor may need to do tests to check how your kidneys are working.

Excess of Ranolazine can cause nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, double vision, tiredness, severe tremor, confusion, hallucinations, difficulty in speaking and walking and you can even faint. It is recommended not to take simvastatin and Ranolazine together because it may cause simvastatin toxicity which may lead to symptoms like muscle weakness and soreness, fatigue, decreased urination, etc. Let your doctor know that you are already taking simvastatin.
